Welcome to Sneaker News #44. This week, it’s Kerwin Frost’s charismatic take on the adidas Forum Hi that’s making headlines. It’s going to be almost impossible to find a more amusing shoe this year. NYC streetwear icon Kerwin Frost has given his twist on the adidas Forum Hi and it’s unexpected to say the least. He keeps the classic Forum silhouette untouched but adds a mouth, nose, and eyes to give the shoe its own personality. November 16th is the date you’re going to have to head to adidas to cop.

ASICS JAPAN S Logoplay

It’s been a long time coming, but the ASICS JAPAN S sneaker is finally making a comeback. The new version takes the same low-profile aesthetic as the ’80s icon, complete with nostalgic branding by way of two-toned ASICS Stripes on the side panels. There is also court-inspired tooling found on the outsole, midsole and upper, alongside an updated cup sole application for improved comfort and lighter weight. Nike Free Terra Vista ‘Black and Canvas’

Nike continues to roll out more sustainable footwear, unleashing the Free Vista. The shoes are made from at least 20% recycled content by weight and are essentially made to be enjoyed in the outdoors. The nature vibes of the shoe continue through everything from the muted colour scheme to the rugged textiles used on the upper. If you’re planning on spending summer exploring the outdoors, these are for you. Nab from Nike on 11th November.

Nike Air Max BW ‘Rotterdam’

Rotterdam’s WOEI is one of the most iconic sneaker shops in the world so it makes sense that its Nike Air Max BW is just as iconic. Woel Tjin says that the Nike Air Max BW is one of his favourite silhouettes and it just so happens that this year is the 30th anniversary of the BW. Inspired by Rotterdam’s flag, it pairs black and high-contrast green while the tongue is a nod to London’s gabber scene, sporting “220 BPM”. Grab them from Nike on 12th November.

adidas x atmos Forum Low

The adidas Forum collabs just keep coming. The latest sees atmos reimagine the classic basketball shoe for the desert. The silhouette remains intact but the colourway is monochromatic wheat with a leather upper. atmos’ logo hangs from the shoe while adidas takes over the lace strap. Head over to adidas on 19th November to buy.

New Balance XC72 ‘Moonbeam with Black’

The New Balance XC72 brings together elements from plenty of New Balance shoes. The outsole which is split down the middle brings together the XC15’s ‘gripper’ with the 375’s studded pattern. It also features the 620s herringbone outsole pattern. It’s inspired by 1970s concept cars and then colourway sticks to the decade delivering moonbeam with black for a classic and experimental look.

New Balance x Joshua Vides 57/40

The New Balance 57/40 is already boundary-pushing, taking the iconic 574 silhouettes and twisting it but now Joshua Vides has pushed it even further. The Latino artist works in a black and white palette but here he plays with texture to elevate it. The upper uses hairy suede alongside bold black lines and paint splatters. They’re due to drop on 13th November at New Balance.

Jordan 3 pine

Nike Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘Pine Green’

The Nike Air Jordan 3 is a certified classic obviously and even though this is a new colourway, it looks instantly iconic. The ‘Pine Green’ is a twist on the ‘Black Cement’ colourway which has become synonymous with the silhouette. This release is defined by the green accents which elevate the shoes. All the trimmings are there too including the foam midsole with an air-sole unit in the heel and forefoot plus a mix of genuine and synthetic leathers on the upper. Sneakerboy has the release date set for 20th November.
