Footwear and accessory brand TOMS has partnered with So iLL for a limited-edition footwear line inspired by rock climbing. Proceeds will benefit charity 1Climb and its effort to build climbing gyms across the United States and help introduce 100,000 kids to climbing.
TOMS classic Alpargata slip-on has been updated with ultra-sticky “Dark Matter” rubber made by So iLL, along with a reinforced toe cap, heel tab, and it’s constructed from rugged materials. So iLL’s popular Street climbing shoe has been given a “TOMS makeover” with limited-edition colourways and pull tabs. Both styles are available to pre-order via Indiegogo for a May 2019 launch.
Founded by professional climber Kevin Jorgeson and So iLL founder Daniel Chancellor, 1Climb is a nonprofit dedicated to introducing 100,000 kids to climbing. Through a close partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs, 1Climb desires to change lives and the future of climbing.
“It’s been great keeping outdoor enthusiasts fashionable and creating products to help people stay healthy and succeed, but I always felt something was missing,” says Daniel Chancellor.
“1Climb has given me the opportunity to help the next generation; I’m incredibly thankful to be part of this effort to introduce 100,000+ kids to the greatest sport I know.”
