Under Armour Unveils High-Tech Flow Velociti Wind 2
Unlike most of us, the human performance and product development teams at Under Armour have been hard at work over the past few years, developing new running technology designed to take the weight off your aching feet. Focusing on data and research collected through thousands of hours of testing, the R&D teams have once again put their best foot forward, unveiling the new UA Flow Velociti Wind 2, a running shoe with innovation at its core.

According to the brand, Under Armour’s Flow Velociti Wind 2 completely disrupts the design of a traditional running shoe with a unique lightweight construction. The new footwear features the lightest midsole technology in UA’s current running line-up, bumping up the cushioning in the process. The Flow Velociti Wind 2 shoe foam features a naturally sticky traction, so traditional bulky overlays aren’t needed. UA also claims the Flow offers runners great energy return, amazing consistency as well as reliable durability that will keep you reaching for your new favourite pair.
Fans will remember the first iteration of UA Flow eliminated the need for a heavy rubber outsole, removing the 2-3 ounces of weight typically added to traditional running shoes. This time around, the new footwear takes the Pebax Propulsion Plate from the previous generation UA HOVR Machina to new lengths.
“UA FLOW is a game-changing cushioning technology that expands our capabilities for delivering the best experience and product solutions to the runner,” Douglas Smiley, senior global product line manager for Performance Run at Under Armour said. The Flow Velociti Wind 2 delivers speed without sacrifice-keeping the runner protected, delivering amazing energy return and putting the wind at their back with every stride, every run, every day.”

Designed for speed over longer distances, the UA Flow Velociti Wind 2 features what Under Armour calls a “super-engineered” upper solution, UA Warp, that adapts to the runner’s foot throughout their stride. This handy addition moves in unison with the foot, supporting steps to help improve performance and enhance the efficiency of the foot-to-shoe interface in each stride. Another first for the 2022 UA Flow Velociti Wind 2 shoes is the Tatami Stitch Heel which is said to deliver a more consistent lockdown around the heel. It also features a moulded EVA sockliner with added comfort and resiliency and cushioning for high-mileage performance. The UA Flow Velociti Wind 2 launches in Australia on Friday 15 April, priced at AUD$200. The new footwear will be available on the Under Armour website, The UA Brand Houses and in-store and online at Rebel nationally.
