Sports brand Under Armour has just launched five new shoe styles suitable for all types of runners – casual joggers, sprinters, long-distance runners and anyone who picks up speed.
The new shoes fall within Under Armour’s HOVR Run Suite, with each style including a pod embedded in the right midsole connecting via Bluetooth to MapMyRun, allowing runners to track their run data without a device and receive virtual coaching. The five Under Armour footwear styles are available now and priced between $180 and $220 AUD.
UA HOVR Infinite forms the foundation of the Run Suite and is a high-performance running shoe made for going the distance. Under Armour says they obsessed over the details and developed an entire system that “works like a symphony under your feet.” From the fit and feel to the breathability, flexibility, and durability, UA HOVR Infinite is said to deliver a super-smooth ride. It’s available for $200 per pair.
HOVR Phantom SE is the “sport edition” of the Phantom Series and the most versatile runners of the new range. New features include improved breathability and a more anatomically shaped collar to better fit the foot for speed and endurance runs. Carried over from the previous Phantom shoes is the luxury ride feel courtesy of the plush 3D-moulded foot-bed and midfoot structure. Available for $200 per pair.
HOVR Velociti 2
UA HOVR Sonic 2 is light and flexible. It combines cushioning and energy return with flexibility for the runner seeking something easy without all the technical distractions. UA HOVR Sonic 2 is said to deliver smooth transitions and the perfect blend of cushioning and responsiveness. $180.
The UA HOVR Guardian is built specifically to provide extra support for long-distance training. This stability shoe is named for its unique ability to help protect from and control over-pronation. That is, preventing the foot from rolling inward as you run. $220.
UA HOVR Velociti 2 is a tempo trainer for runners with a need for speed. The newest model is light, low and sleek, featuring a thinner layer of cushioning, providing maximum energy return. Under Armour’s Micro G foam along with dynamic mesh and then another layer of HOVR foam, are added to help deliver a light and snappy ride. The HOVR cushioning also resides in the forefoot, to get runners farther up on foot for a faster gait. Available for $200 per pair.
