They say that if you fail to learn from history you’re doomed to repeat it. Earlier this year, Timex released a reissue of the Q Timex, a watch inspired by the 1970s and divers. That reissue sold out in less than 24 hours. It was restocked only to repeat the performance, selling out in just 24 hours again. Now Timex is reissuing another Q Timex, the Falcon Eye, and unless you move fast, you’ll miss out on this one as well.
The Falcon Eye isn’t as much of a diver as the Q Timex, but it is still inspired by the 1970s. It features a two-tone treatment and a bright blue dial that pops against the gold and silver. Period correct details abound on the Falcon Eye, starting with a domed acrylic crystal. The woven stainless steel bracelet is definitely a callback to the ‘70s, as is the functional battery hatch on the back. The dial markers are done in gold and are luminous, and there is a day and date window at three o’clock. What’s not an homage to the ‘70s is the watch’s increased quality and its 50 meters of water resistance.
The round watch case measures 38mm wide and has a 12mm height. The sharp, and timeless, looks of this Timex will make it a fast-selling success. And the price will only help to ensure that it goes quickly. If you’re looking for a watch that has all the charm of the 1970s but the quality of a modern watch, then you’ll want to pick up a Falcon Eye. Just do it before it sells out, just like previous Q Timex watches have done already this year.
