Audemars Piguet’s Code 11.59 is a Selfwinding Showpiece

Audemars Piguet is expanding its Code 11.59 collection with an additional five self-winding models that the Swiss watchmaker describes as the new tones of elegance.
The new watches feature a 41mm octagonal case fitted with a round, ultra-thin bezel and a selection of smoked-lacquered dials with sunburst patterns and hues of blue, burgundy, purple and light and dark grey. Double curved glare-proof sapphire crystal plays with depth and light, bringing forward the hand-polished gold hands and indices while protecting the piece.

Audemars Piguet has made each model available as Selfwinding date, hour, minute and second references and as new Selfwinding Chronographs. Visible through the watch’s caseback, both movements are equipped with a patented setting mechanism that brings stability and precision when adjusting the watch’s functions.
The new Code 11.59 models start with Refined Intensity. This is the one possessing a dial in sunburst smoked burgundy. Red shades and rich nuances illuminate the 18-carat white gold case. The dial is complemented with 18-carat white gold hands and applied hour-markers.
Ocean Deep is the 18-carat pink gold model with the smoked blue lacquered dial. The dial’s sunburst effect recalls underwater sun rays. The black inner bezel provides depth and intensity, while the double-curved glare-proof sapphire crystal offers a unique play of light.
Uncompromisingly Purple is exactly that. Bringing together the calm stability of blue and the intensity of red, this model in purple is quite elegant. The contrast between the smoked purple lacquered dial and 18-carat pink gold case is further emphasised by pink gold applied hour-markers and hands.
The final two models feature distinctive two-tone gold cases and dials in light grey and smoked grey. 18-carat white and pink gold foregrounds draw the eye while the sapphire caseback reveals the 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight matching the case’s colour.
Each watch comes with a hand-stitched “large square scale” alligator strap in a colour matching the dial.
