Breitling Unveils the Endurance Pro Sports Chronograph

Swiss watchmaker Breitling is shaking things up with an everyday sports watch perfect for those who crave a splash of luxury alongside an active lifestyle. Available in five colour variants, the Breitling Endurance Pro is a lightweight chronograph that merges familiar high-precision technology with a vibrant, colourful design. It sure draws the eye, just maybe not in the way you would expect from a name like Breitling.

“When Jan Frodeno first became a member of our Triathlon Squad, he asked me what Breitling he should wear,” explained Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling. “We started brainstorming about the perfect sporty lifestyle watch, and that conversation led to the development of the Endurance Pro.”

The Endurance Pro features a 44-millimetre case housing a thermo-compensated SuperQuartz movement that’s said to be ten times more accurate than conventional quartz. Each of the five variants has a black dial and a black bidirectional rotating bezel with engraved cardinal compass points. An inner bezel is marked with a pulsometer scale for monitoring heart rate. Breitling says it drew inspiration from the Breitling Sprint, a memorable watch from the 1970s that combined a pulsometer and was impressively lightweight.

The chronograph seconds hand has a red pointer making it easier to keep track of the elapsed time. Along with a small-seconds subdial, there are 1/10th second and 30-minute chronograph counters that have also been designed for easy reading. The hour and minute hands are coated with SuperLumiNova, making them legible in limited lighting conditions. The Breitling Endurance Pro is water-resistant to 10 bar/100 metres (330 feet) and has a battery life of three to four years.

Each watch is presented on a Diver Pro rubber strap in the same colour as the inner bezel ring. The strap is secured with a Breitlight double-pin buckle. Vibrant NATO straps matching the watch colours can be purchased separately. The sports-centric Breitling Endurance Pro is available in five colourways priced at AUD$4,490 each.
