Hublot has the envious title of being the officially licensed watch partner of the UEFA Champions League. As such, the Swiss luxury watchmaker is looking to mark the special occasion of the round of 16 stage commencement. To do so, they’re releasing a new Classic Fusion AeroFusion Chronograph.
“This is an exciting day for fans of European football, who will be turning in to the next round of UEFA Champions League games this evening all over the world,” stated Ricardo Guadalupe, the CEO of Hublot. “They will see the famous Hublot referee boards used by the fourth official, and from today, they can also wear the beautiful blue ceramic Classic Fusion AeroFusion Chronograph UEFA Champions League, a watch made for football fans. Hublot loves football!”
Even if you’re not a football fan, you’ll still appreciate the beauty of the AeroFusion. Designed with a satin-finished ceramic case and bezel measuring 45mm, the watch’s most striking feature is its smoky midnight blue finish. The watch’s hardware—crown, pushers, and bezel screws—is done in a contrasting polished titanium. The dial has been skeletonized, allowing the Hublot HUM1155 automatic chronograph calibre to show through. This calibre offers a 42-hour power reserve and uses 60 jewels. There are two sub-dials—one offers the seconds over a stylized dial that repeats the star motif of the UEFA Champions League logo. That same logo is repeated on the sapphire crystal insert found on the blue ceramic case back. The watch will be limited to just 100 units and can be found in official Hublot dealerships.
Hublot has served as the “official timekeeper” of the FIFA World Cup since 2010 and for the UEFA Euro in 2008. The watchmaker became the officially licensed watch partner of the UEFA Champions League in 2015.
