Montblanc’s TWIN Smart Strap is a stylish band that upgrades traditional watches with smart features like fitness tracking, notifications and contactless payments through Montblanc Pay.
TWIN features a lightweight smart module made of stainless steel and covered by curved scratch-resistant glass to blend with timepieces. Underneath the glass lies a monochrome OLED display to read notifications and an LED light array for visual cues, on top of vibration alerts. Built with Bluetooth and NFC technology, the module is also IP68 water resistant and lasts up to a week on a single charge.
The smart module is embedded in a comfortable, quality strap that can be mounted on most watches without tools and is adjustable for size. The strap will be available in two widths – 22mm and 20mm, the standard widths of most male watches. The strap exists in four styles: black calf leather, vintage brown calf leather, black nylon and black & grey striped nylon.
Along with TWIN comes Montblanc Pay, a new mobile payment platform that operates in conjunction with the Montblanc Twin companion app. Users can digitalise up to five credit cards for contactless payments via the TWIN strap, and it’s developed in full partnership with Visa and Mastercard. The TWIN Smart Strap is equipped with security sensors that deactivate the payment function in case of theft or loss, along with state-of-the-art data encryption.
Montblanc’s TWIN Smart Strap is available from August with a starting price of 390€ (approximately AUD $600). In other Montblanc news, the luxury accessory brand recently dropped Le Petit Prince, a Fountain pen inspired by the novella of the same name.
