Patek Philippe Nautilus Green Revamps a Dying Breed
It was a crushing blow to watch collectors when Patek Philippe CEO Thierry Stern announced that the luxury watch brand would be discontinuing production of the Nautilus ref. 5711. Fortunately, there’s some salve for that injury as Patek Philippe recently released four new versions of the Nautilus. Even more exciting, the new releases include a new dial colour—an olive green sunburst face that comes either with or without diamonds.

The new olive color actually made its debut with the Twenty~4 Automatic collection, where it has been a hit color that has demanded a lot of attention. For collectors looking to get their hands on a Nautilus before the category is shut down, the olive green dial may be the Holy Grail for this year. The olive green dial comes in a satin-brushed and polished stainless steel case, with a matching bracelet. According to reports, the watch is priced at USD$34,893, however, you can add some bling to the watch by adding in 32 Top Wesselton diamonds. The baguette diamonds have a trapezoidal shape and fit into the bezel perfectly. They also total out at 3.6 carats, which drives the price up to around USD$94,624. The Nautilus features a 40mm case housing a self-winding caliber 26-330 S C movement.
If olive green isn’t what you’re looking for in the last offerings of the Nautilus line, then you’ll have to “settle” for a Travel Time Chronograph done in rose gold with a blue sunburst, or get the same watch that looks as if it has been bedazzled with diamonds (it has 2,553 diamonds on it so as to prevent as much exposure of the precious metal as possible). Whatever you decide on, you’ll get the last of a line that is already rare enough, so don’t waste too much time in getting on the waiting list for the Patek Philippe Nautilus. Good luck getting your hands on this one, though.
