Razer X Fossil Gen 6 Smartwatch: Release Date, Specs
Revealed at Fossil’s CES 2022 conference show, the limited-edition $329 Razer x Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch will be available for purchase on January 10, 2021. You’ll have to be quick, with only 1,337 devices available. Fossil also announced the release of the Skagen Gen 6 smartwatch.
“We are excited to partner with Fossil to design a limited-edition smartwatch and to share the Razer X Fossil Gen 6 with our community of gamers around the world,” associate director, Business Development at Razer Addie Tan said. “We are always on the lookout for opportunities to compliment gamers’ lifestyles and to bring them products that not only look good but bring value to their lives as well … Leveraging Fossil’s innovative technology and Razer’s iconic design aesthetic, this smartwatch will be the perfect accessory to keep you ahead of the game.”
The Razer x Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch is a repackaged version of the Fossil Gen 6 with hardware details and watch faces designed with Razer’s audience in mind. The smartwatch features a 44-millimetre matte black case with a pair of special silicone straps in black and green. The 2 custom-designed, interchangeable straps both feature “Razer” in the brand’s stylized logo. It features subtle Razer logos and nods to the brand’s iconic neon green hue but with iconic Fossil features and design, there’s no mistaking it for any other watch.
In terms of screen real estate, the Razer x Fossil Gen 6 features a 1.28-inch AMOLED display and comes with three distinct Razer watch faces loaded on including Analogue, Text and Chroma. The text face spells out the time in an italicized digital, while the analog face features the Razer logo and places for complications. The most interesting watch face is Chroma. It features a spinning colour dial with four different colour settings that you could even curate to match your Razer gaming keyboard light settings.
The Skagen Gen 6 smartwatch features a minimalist Danish design with a unisex assortment of four different case and strap options. Plus it also features a stainless steel mesh band. Just like the Razer x Fossil collaboration, the 42mm Skagen Gen 6 smartwatch also offers different watch faces curated for the brand.
Both the Razer x Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch and the Skagen Gen 6 smartwatch use SpO2 monitoring, on-wrist call support for both iOS and Android users. Both smartwatches use the modernized Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ chipset, which promises better battery efficiency or a full 24 hours of use. The smartwatch is self-aware and also reminds you when you should get up, stand and stretch.
If you’re a gamer or fan of Razer products, the Razer x Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch is a must-have, as it’s perfect and kind of brilliant.
