Danish watchmaker Skagen is expanding its portfolio to include its first ever touchscreen smartwatch. Powered by Android Wear 2.0 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform, Skagen’s Falster smartwatch is the perfect balance of form and function—modern, minimalist design with added technology that simplifies rather than complicates, and connects rather than distracts.
”One of our goals with Skagen’s smartwatches is to make technology feel more familiar and approachable. We do this by simplifying and editing our products, but also by humanising the experience of using them,’’ says Frederik Thrane, Creative Director of Skagen.
”We want to take the best of what technology has to offer and create a timepiece that lives up to our belief in good design for better living.”
The Falster features a full-round touchscreen and an intuitive, easy-to-navigate interface. The dials are simple while visually balanced, showing information in an edited and informative way, without unnecessary clutter.
As it’s a smartwatch, Falster includes all of the smart features you’ve come to expect from the technology. These include: voice commands, call and text notifications, activity tracking, music control, plus customisable apps, watch faces and more.
True to the spirit of ‘hygge’ – a Danish concept of comfort and connection, the Falster keeps users connected to loved ones and encourages them to feel more mindful while interacting with technology.
The Skagen Falster touchscreen smartwatch will be available in four colourways, with leather and mesh straps in both stainless steel and rose from the end of February 2018. The watch retails for AUD $449-$479.
