TAG Heuer has unveiled two new special edition watches honouring fan-favourite football club Manchester United. These contemporary designs borrow the team’s iconic red, adding anthracite grey for a unique collection launching at the start of the 2018/2019 football season.
The first is a $7,450 TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01. With a 43 mm diameter and branding the Carrera name, this special edition is sports-driven. Manchester United’s striking red takes centre stage. It’s found on the hour, minute and second hands along with the bright rubber strap. The football club’s logo is positioned at 9 o’clock. The red devil decal logo on the caseback adds some playfulness to this design.
The second model is a TAG Heuer Formula 1 chronograph priced at $2000. This watch is made entirely from steel, except for the strap. It’s made from black rubber. The Manchester United logo (in red) is positioned on the counter at 6 o’clock. The date, meanwhile, is at 4 o’clock on a black disc. The screw-down case is also engraved with the MU logo. Thanks to the 1/10 second hand, which completes one revolution of every second, this chronograph offers much more than a pleasant view.
Manchester United has an impressive 659 million supporters worldwide. That’s more than the combined population of Australia, America, Canada, Japan, Germany and New Zealand. We’re expecting these special editions to be quite popular.
If you’re more of a basketball kind-of-guy, Aussie NBA star Matthew Dellavedova is a brand ambassador for TAG Heuer. The iconic watch brand also details its new TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16.
