Back in 2013, Jake Kassan and Kramer Laplante dropped out of school to found MVMT (pronounced “movement”). Through crowdfunding, they were able to launch a watch line based on a minimalistic approach and affordable prices. Since then, the company has grown quite a bit, creating a global community of over 1.5 million MVMT owners. They’ve expanded their product line—last year they added sunglasses—but they’ve always stayed true to their chronograph origins.
MVMT has now just launched a new automatic watch—the Arc Automatic. The watch was inspired by 1960s architecture, meaning that it has a detailed aesthetic. The mechanism is self-winding, which is powered by the wearer’s movements. The back of the watch features a window to see the movement. You can pick up the watch in Bourbon Rose, Jet Noir, Ivory Oak, and Iron Elm with each watch featuring a genuine leather band. The Arc Automatic retails for $300.
