Ulysse Nardin Sparkling Free Wheel

Embellished in 2,251 pave stones totalling 5.90 carats which took the artisan an estimated 120 hours of work to complete, the Ulysse Nardin Sparkling Free Wheel is a triumph of both haute horlogerie and precious gem setting. Its aesthetic is a captivating one, from the shimmering diamond-encrusted dial offset by the exposed mechanical parts to the contemporary look of the black alligator leather strap and the diamond setting on the case, the Ulysse Nardin Sparkling Free Wheel looks every bit of bling that you would want in a watch.

TAG Heuer Connected Wellness & Golf

TAG Heuer’s answer to the Apple Watch is a pioneering effort on the forefront of the Swiss watch industry and has been received positively since its release. TAG Heuer has come leaps and bounds since the original model was released, and now in its latest version, the Connected will feature a Wellness app and a Golf app. The Wellness app will display key health biometrics, including a step counter, an exercise tracker, a calorie-burning tracker as well as a feature to track progress over a period of time. The Connected Golf is every golfer’s best friend and will include an array of helpful features including 2D and 3D mapping of over 40,000 courses around the world. 21st century watchmaking, it seems.

IWC Achieves Landmark Certification

IWC has just announced that it has attained the Chain of Custody certification from the Responsible Jewellery Council. This certification basically stipulates that the gold and platinum used in IWC’s manufacture is fully traceable and has been responsibly sourced, much like Chopard’s responsible sourcing of its gold materials. What this means is more accountability, more ethically sourced materials and a higher overall standard of end-to-end manufacturing.

The Hour Glass Presents “The Persistence of Memory”

The Hour Glass presents its latest digital exhibition, “The Persistence of Memory”. This exhibition will survey the last half-century of artisanal watchmaking, beginning in 1970 closely following the work of Dr. George Daniels and Derek Pratt and moving on to the watchmakers who seem to align their own practices with that of defining work of Daniels and Pratt, including F. P. Journe, Philippe Dufour and Kari Voutilainen, and finally finishing up with Rexhep Rexhepi and Roger Smith. Exciting stuff!

Seiko anniversary

Seiko’s 140th Anniversary Collection

Seiko has unveiled a new collection of limited edition watches just in time for its 140th anniversary. The four models include the Prospex SPB213, the Presage SPB223, the Astron SSH093 and the Seiko 5 Sports SRPG47. Each model features the same blue and silvery-white livery that’s both refreshing and highly contemporary. My favourite model would have to be the Seiko 5 Sports. We love the macho-look of it, especially when compared to the original that does look slightly dainty. The Prospex SPB213 will be priced at $1,895AUD, the Presage SPB223 at $2,150AUD, the Astron SSH093 at $3,295AUD and the Seiko 5 Sports SRPG47 at $550AUD.
