Leatherman takes its popular wearable multi-tool, reduces its weight by 20% and adds a Swiss-made timepiece with precision quartz movement. The watch shows the time and date and has a rotation unidirectional diver’s bezel, glow-in-the-dark hour markers and hands. The heavy-duty shock-resistant sapphire crystal ensures there will be no scratches, and the curved watch face limits reflection for increased outdoor visibility. It’s also water resistant up to 200 meters.
The watchband is chock-full of interchangeable tools spread across 9 of the steel links. The band features a 3/32″ Screwdriver, 6mm Hex Drive, 4mm Hex Drive, #3 Square Drive, #1 Square Drive, Pozi-Drive #3. The other three interchangeable links include an 8mm Box Wrench, Pozi-Drive #2, and 11mm Box Wrench. It is TSA-friendly and adjustable both in link choices and wristband size in 1/4″ and 1/2″ increments.
The Leatherman Tread Tempo comes in stainless steel and black finishes. It’s backed by a five-year battery warranty, two-year movement warranty and 25-year band warranty. You can buy a Tread Tempo now for AU $799. A Tread wearable multi-tool is sold separately and also includes a bottle opener and #2 square drive. It’s available for $319.95.
Leatherman believes there will be no dramas taking the Tread band through airport security – trial at your own risk. Be sure to read up on our interview with Leatherman President Ben Rivera.
