Timex and NN07’s New M79 is a Sub $300 Automatic Classic
NN07 is looking to unify the world by breaking down borders. With a name that stands for “No Nationality,” the menswear company is taking their Scandinavian looks and bringing them to the rest of the world with a distinctive approach to design and branding. That approach now includes Timex, who has teamed with NN07 to create an automatic stainless steel bracelet watch.

The watch in question is based on Timex’s M79 automatic watch with influences from Timex’s quartz Q Timex reissue. The rotating bezel on the 40mm watch is done in a dark grey-blue, while the dial is a deep black. The same greyish blue color appears in the marker located at 7 o’clock (the rest of the markers are fauxtina and luminous). The hour hand is one of the Timex “T” hands and there is a day and date window at 3 o’clock. The strap is a woven steel bracelet and comes with a self-adjust claps, and the watch has a water resistance of up to 50 meters. Inside the case is a Miyota 8205 automatic movement, which powers hours, minutes, seconds, day, and date, and it has a 40 power reserve. An exhibition case back lets you see the movement in action.
“It is with great honour we at NN07 took the task of imprinting our DVA into a Timex classic,” said NN07 in the announcement of the collaboration. “We were really smitten when we first saw the newly released M79 sporting the navy NN07 look and feel.” The collaboration will be limited to just 777 watches in total, a reference to NN07’s theme of sevens. Each watch will be individually numbered and comes in a recycled cardboard box with NN07’s inscription, “Take Your Time.” Timex has priced the limited edition watch at $299—that’s a price that can easily start breaking down borders and unifying us all.
