When Ulysse Nardin drops a new watch collection, you can expect it to shatter all expectations of what watchmaking can achieve. The Executive Tourbillon “Free Wheel” is no exception. And it seemingly defies gravity along the way.

Available in an elegant white or rose gold, The Executive Tourbillon features new movement technology along with an innovative box-domed sapphire glass housing and a 7-day power reserve indicator at four o’clock.

The modern-sized 44mm dial for the 18ct rose gold version is in dark stone, carved from a slab of slate. The 18ct white gold version is built on a sleek black honeycomb grid. The tourbillon bridges, ‘skeletonised’ components, hour and minute indicators and gorgeous gear trains all look like they’re floating in air.

The sapphire glass housing the ‘flying’ elements is complex; painstakingly polished for a standout finish. The caseback is in sapphire, except there’s nothing to see inside, as all of the components are visible on the dial side. The mechanical movement powering this beauty replaces the traditional Swiss lever escapement system and uses Ulysse Nardin’s signature low-friction silicium instead of metal or synthetic rubies. This watch is also water resistant to 30m.

The strap is “carbon leather’ in matte alligator, exceptionally soft and silky to the touch.

Unlike other select Ulysse Nardin watches, the Executive Tourbillon “Free Wheel” is not a limited edition, but a full-run production launch. It’s visually stunning. The perfect timepiece for those who take delight in the leading edge of engineering and aesthetics.
Check it out

Have you subscribed to Man of Many?
