Best New Movie Trailers – February 2021

It’s official. We still have trailer fever. There’s no doubt about it. In a world where Apple TV+ & foot rubs are the new norm, and enticing us to go out and catch a flick is getting harder; a trailer can lead a film to global success or be the catalyst for missing its mark in the box office. As a result, we’ve seen an unprecedented effort put into the crafting of spine-tingling teasers and tantalising trailers.

But the fact remains – not all trailers are made equal.

Here at Man of Many, we know trailers, man. Whether it’s Sub-Zero snapping off frozen limbs in cold blood for the new ‘Mortal Kombat’ or David Bautista popping off zombie heads in ‘Army of the Dead – if the trailer’s red-hot, we’ll have a gander and let you know about it. So without further ado, here is a list of the Best New Movie Trailers that dropped in January 2021.

Mortal Kombat Official Red Band Trailer

Get this trailer over here! For the uninitiated, the Mortal Kombat sees the galaxy’s greatest warriors go toe-to-toe for the fate of the universe. Or perhaps it’s just for universal bragging rights. All the faves are here: Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Jax Briggs (NOT played by Terry crews, wtf guys?), Shang Tsung, Sub-Zero and Mileena. But no Baraka. Seriously, where’s Baraka? Not enough left in the CGI budget, Warner Bros? Or did you not think his edge-lordliness would resonate with today’s audience? Gripe aside,  we look forward to Sub-Zero freezing and smashing his way into our hearts.

Disney’s Cruella Official Trailer

Starring Academy Award winner Emma Stone (La La Land & Easy ‘A’), Disney’s “Cruella,” is the live-action feature that had BETTER be an improvement on the drivel that was The Lion King remake. Focusing on the rebellious early days of the villainous (although supremely fashionable), Cruella de Vil, Disneys, we’ll soon find out why she hates dogs so much. And perhaps who does her hair. Which is something that we all really care about.

Coming 2 America Official Trailer #2

More than a mindless cash grab, now we can see what this movie is trying to do now. It’s all about Eddie Murphy’s kid, coming home to learn how to be a prince. Kind of like the Princess Diaries 2. Actually, it’s exactly like PD2 starring Anne ‘when there’s a will there’s a Hathaway’, Julie Daniel Andrews and Chris Pinetree. But with way more swearing and Black Panther references. Sounds good to us.

Army of The Dead Teaser

Directed by Zack Synder, Army of The Dead stars David Bautista as a big tough guy, which is fitting – and it looks like a buttload of fun. Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries set out to what looks like Vegas to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. Initially, we were a bit confused as to why they’d bother robbing a casino for piles of money when there’s a literal ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, however, we’re sure that Sack Zynder has thought of a very, very good reason. Like a new breed of zombie that eat EFTPOS receipts instead of brains, to contend with.

Zack Synder’s: Justice League

The fabled Synder cut is almost upon us. With a glorious 4+ hour run time, this film is heralded by fans as the movie that could save the DC universe. As long as we don’t fall asleep in the third hour, that is. With a sneaky appearance from Jared Leto as apocalyptic ‘Joker’, heaps of slow-mo hero shots and cinematography to die for, we couldn’t be more thrilled to see the redemption of Batffleck on this massive scale.

Nomadland Official Trailer

Starring the ruggedly ethereal Francis McDormand, Nomadland follows the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, prompting Fern (McDormand) to pack her van and sets off on the road to exploring a life outside of conventional society. Stunningly filmed and flawlessly acted (from what we’ve seen so far), Nomadland is as beautiful as it is timely in the context of today’s America.

COSMIC SIN Official Trailer

Another instalment in Bruce Willis’ spree of ‘straight to DVD’ saga, COSMIC SIN is all an all-caps kind of movie. Set in the year 2524, four centuries after humans started colonising the outer planets, a ‘gettin’ too old for this shit’ retired James Ford gets called back into service – this is thanks to a recent hostile alien fleet that attacks human soldiers on a remote planet. The threat against mankind soon escalates to Bruce Willis scale proportions Ford and a team of elite crew soldiers try to stop the imminent attack before it’s too late. So basically, there’s lot’s of boom-boom and bang-bang on the menu.
