When someone mentions rugby union, you probably think of tackles, scrums, beers, cheers or male bonding, pretty much anything but tea leaves. Celebrated Australian Rugby Union player Adam Ashley-Cooper is in fact, a tea connoisseur and co-founder of Boutea, high-quality large leaf, loose leaf tea grown in one of the world’s best tea plantations in the high ground of Sri Lanka. It was while playing for the Brumbies, Adam discovered his love for tea. During this time, Adam lived next door to tea expert Jody Hillier who introduced him to the many intricacies of the tea world. Their shared passion for a remarkable brew resulted in a partnership where five years later, Boutea was born.
The Boutea range consists of four varieties: English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Green Citrus and Peppermint. While the English Breakfast sticks to traditional roots of full-bodied flavour and maple colour, the Earl Grey delivers a strong floral aroma with a well-structured and creamy body. For fans of herbal teas, the addition of citrus peel balances the earthiness of traditional green tea in the Green Citrus blend whereas the Peppermint delivers a slightly restrained peppermint profile ensuring you can finish the whole cup. Relax, unwind and immerse yourself in the world of the perfect brew.
