Chivas Regal is a brand synonymous with style and quality, and having spent the last 107 years perfecting the art of blending whisky it’s an association that’s well-deserved. Having enjoyed global success as the premium whisky choice for many on every continent, they’ve just released their latest and greatest sipper, Chivas Ultis.
Like all of Chivas’ offerings, the secret to the flavour profile is not really a secret at all; it’s all in the ingredients. This release has exhausted less than 1% of the barrels they’ve got stored in their warehouses, carefully selected by a team of blenders, to bring together some rarities for a full-bodied, smooth and delicate blended whisky.
The five single malts that have been selected for Chivas Ultis are from Strathisla, Longmorn, Tormore, Allt A’Bhainne and Braeval, not dissimilar to the Chivas Regal we already know and love. The nose shows some ripe peach and red apple with cinnamon and honey, while the taste is a balanced harmony of vanilla, bittersweet citrus, apricots and spices.
Retailing at $220 AUD, it’s already got a strong foot in the premium whisky market and is sure to have an instant fanbase upon arrival to our shores.
