Feeling Spicy? ALDI Just Dropped a Ridiculous Chilli Gin

Ahh, gin, the spirit so tasty it’s sometimes hard to stop at just one (we’ve all been there.) And, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better than your classic spirit, it does, with ALDI’s new chilli gin levelling up your traditional G&T. Chilli gin and tonic? That’s right. Say no more. The new arrival is part of ALDI’s Special Buys Range which landed in stores in late July in celebration of ALDI’s Gin Festival.

The festival of all things botanical is bound to get you excited, with a plethora of refreshing, unique gins on offer to tickle your tastebuds no matter what your drink of choice. Along with the infamous chilli gin, you can expect to see a whole range of delicious options hitting the ALDI shelves, including Haysmith’s Elements Fire Gin and Eden Mill Scottish Dry Gin, which features notes of fresh, zesty lemon and lime. If you prefer to play it safe, this range also includes Eden Mill Scottish Dry Gin which has that classic gin taste we all know and love. With everything from smooth, to fruity and subtle savoury flavours, we’re pretty damn excited about this one.

Safe to say, we’re probably the most excited to try the new McQueen Smokey Chilli Gin, but for those sceptics out there that may be wondering how on earth a chilli gin actually comes to be, well, here’s the rundown. Handcrafted in Scotland’s Trossachs Distillery, the new craft spirit is made using chipotle and smoked chilli, along with lime and Bulgarian juniper. Its subtle spice and savoury smoke are balanced with notes of coriander, juniper, and the sweetness of citrus. So, you can enjoy it by itself, or use it to add a cool spin to a classic gin and tonic – we’re drooling just thinking about it!
