Aviation Gin’s New Ad Features the Blowjob Guy from Fyre Festival

Ryan Reynolds is back pushing his Aviation Gin. Reynolds tells the story of how he fell in love with Aviation Gin and ultimately buying the company, which soon became a leader in the spirits industry. True to his reputation for stretching the truth, Reynolds goes on with his fabrication explaining his commitment to go above and beyond by personally blowing every single bottle and then hand engraving them.

The marketing strategy behind Aviation Gin is a smart one. Capitalising on Reynolds’ popularity, thanks to the extremely successful Deadpool films among others, isn’t a new ploy for marketing campaigns. Other actors also back products.

Nor is humour a new tactic. But the combination of Reynolds and his dry sense of humour is a recipe for success. Many people tune in for Aviation Gin commercials just to see Reynolds at his comedic best.

The latest video features event producer Andy King, who found fame after being featured in Netflix’s documentary FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened. King became an overnight sensation after confessing his willingness to give a USD$175,000 blowjob to a customs official in order to secure water for the doomed festival.

But Aviation’s success isn’t just because of the funny videos. “It’s the legwork,” explains Reynolds in an interview with Forbes. “That’s the part I enjoy. I don’t mind going into a room and talking to people about why I love this so much. I think that’s how you build. I don’t think you build it by clever fun social media stuff or viral videos—even though we’ve done some of those things because it’s fun for me to do. It’s really about the legwork.”

That’s probably the truth, but still, people are pretty grateful for the funny videos.
