Matthew McConaughey Launches Limited-Edition Camping Sets to Help Protect Australia’s Wildlife

With bushfires ravaging parts of the country, coupled with the pandemic locking us indoors, Australians are long overdue for a trip into the wild. So to get the wheels in motion, Wild Turkey’s Creative Director Mathew McConaughey has crafted a one-of-a-kind tent to get us back to the great outdoors, while giving thanks to those who work tirelessly to protect it. Joining forces with Australian outdoors brand Homecamp, McConaughey has crafted 150 limited-edition two-man canvas tents and matching cooler bags available exclusively in Australia.

For many, the past 18 months has kept us plugged into our devices with very little opportunity to embrace nature. That’s why instead of simply building a tent, McConaughey’s vision was to create a camping experience that inspired Aussies to escape into the wilderness and appreciate the beauty at our doorstep. To bring this idea to life, the Wild Turkey x Homecamp tents come built-in with the sultry tones of McConaughey’s very own campfire stories that can be unlocked via a QR code located on its exterior.

“No one knows the Australian wilderness better than Aussies themselves,” mused Matthew McConaughey, Wild Turkey’s Creative Director. “During my time in Australia, I was always in awe of the deep level of knowledge and appreciation Aussies had for the great outdoors. That’s why, Wild Turkey and Homecamp have come together to create an experience that reminds us why we all need to go back into the wilderness sooner and more often. Because when you’re in the wild, you can always trust your spirit.”

Available for pre-order on 1 December, a proportion of the proceeds from each Wild Turkey x Homecamp Trust Your Spirit tent will go towards the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, to support the continuous bushfire effort. The 150th tent is going to be auctioned off, with the final bid going to Wild Turkey’s charity partner as part of its ongoing commitment to champion those who preserve our country’s wilderness.

To help quench the thirst built up on your next outdoor adventure, Wild Turkey has also launched a new premium range of RTDs named The Discovery Series. Exclusive to Australia, flavours include Extra Aged Vanilla Oak Spiced Cola and Extra Aged Spiced Honey Soda. McConaughey adds, “It’s time to pack the car and find your own place in the wilderness. As you sit before a crackling fire with a Wild Turkey Discovery Series in hand, people can listen to my stories on trusting one’s spirit and of what the wilderness gives back.”

The Wild Turkey x Homecamp Trust Your Spirit tent and cooler bag come as a set at AU$950.00, available for pre-order from 1 December 2021. Head to their website to learn more about this year’s With Thanks initiative and order one of 150 limited-edition tents.
