I like my whiskey aged. The older, the better, in my mind. But until now, I never had a whiskey that had come back from the dead. Johnnie Walker changed that with their new Blue Label Ghost and Rare.
Ghost and Rare is the first of a series of special releases, crafted from irreplaceable whiskies from distilleries that have long since been shut down. Each batch will feature a specific whiskey as a base – the first will be Brora a Highland Single Malt and will be complemented by cohesive blends.
The additional whiskies, beyond Brora, will be blended for an original and captivating taste. Those whiskies – each coming from a now defunct distillery – are; of Cambus and Pittyvaich, and Brora. These flavors will culminate in a velvety smooth blend of Scotch that releases a light mouthfeel and a subtle, yet charming sweetness.
This is just another great example of Johnnie Walker being an established and innovative leader in the industry. While Ghost and Rare is the first whiskey of its kind, Johnnie Walker has promised more to its consumers. If customer reviews are any indication, I think we’ll be seeing another batch coming our way soon.
