The Melbourne distillery has combined the taste of juniper with macerated ginger root and adding in a touch of smashed nutmeg, tonka beans, and cinnamon to create their Gingerbread Gin. The Craft & Co describes the liquor as being “unashamedly unfiltered gin” that will help you recall “that delicious sense of joy from all your favorite festivities. In appearance, the gin is a cloudy, dull gold. The Gingerbread Gin is available online through a few select retailers, such as Dan Murphy’s, Nick’s, Options Wines, and BoozeBud. You can also pick some up at the Craft & Co stores in Collingwood and Bangholme. You can order it from Dan Murphy’s for $85 for a 700ml bottle. Just in case you’re harboring any doubts about this gin, it recently won a silver medal at the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition (along with The Craft & Co’s Old Tom Gin and Navy Strength Gin).
The Craft & Co follows up on the gift-giving spirit of the season by providing an easy cocktail recipe for you to truly enjoy their Gingerbread Gin. Titled “Gingerbread Gin Alexander,” the recipe was devised by The Craft & Co’s distillers and bar team. The recipe uses brown crème de cacao and fresh cream topped off with gingerbread biscuit crumbs. The Craft & Co also recommends trying the gin neat, on ice, with ginger beer, or with blood orange soda.
