The Calistoga area of Napa Valley is blessed with some of the best California wines and world-class vineyards. Calistoga’s Tank Garage Winery just announced the release of its newest Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend. This blend has the distinction of being bottled in the first chrome glass wine bottle in the world.
Are you a vintage car and wine lover? If so, then you will really appreciate what Tank Garage ha done with the Chrome Dreams Wine. The 1930s service station turned winery designed this wine’s bottle as an ode to the classic American automobile. The co-founder of Tank Garage Winery, James Harder, says that Chrome Dreams Wine was inspired by a time when cars represented freedom and the American Dream.
The glass-chromed bottle features an extruded wing-wheeled emblem and a luxurious mirrored surface inspired by iconic American vintage cars. Tank Garage Winery spent more than a year designing this revolutionary wine bottle. They worked with a specialty packaging manufacturer to perfect the design. The bottle is finished with a clear-embossed delicate resin seal that is imported from Italy.
The 2015 limited-edition Chrome Dreams Wine is a blend of 87 percent cabernet sauvignon, eight percent cabernet franc and 5 percent petite sirah. It features layers of raspberry and blackberry with dark crème de cassis aromas. There are also hints of star anise and bay leaf in the background. It is 14.9 % ABV.
The Chrome Dreams Wine will be released this month. Tank Garage Winery says that they will release just less than 500 cases of the wine.
