There’s actually something to look forward to this winter as Little Creatures is preparing to drop a smooth stout in a can called The Fuggle Is Real. This seasonal craft brew is expected soon on tap and in good bottle shops across the country.
“We may love our Pale Ales, but we love dark beer too and like to think we’re pretty good at putting one together,” says Russ Gosling, Head Brewer, Little Creatures. “A stout is also a step outside of our core range of beers, so we’ve dug deep into what makes for a really drinkable beer.”
The Fuggle is real takes its name from the popular millennial saying, “the struggle is real,” and alludes to the battle against the colder months, plus Little Creatures’ mission to put stout in a can. It’s been several years in the making.
It also references English Fuggle hops, which Russ Gosling believes every good stout needs. Fuggle hops combine with US Loral hops to create Little Creatures’ noble, earthy and dark fruit quality that beer connoisseurs have come to expect. The result is sophisticated, velvet-like stout that’s a winter warmer, both intriguing and familiar.
“The cooler winter months give brewers the opportunity to explore richer flavoured beers but still aim to provide the drinker with the same pleasurable Little Creatures’ drinking experience,” adds Russ.
Keep an eye out for The Fuggle is Real this Winter. In other brew news, there’s still time to catch SAMPLE Brew’s beer modifiers at GABS Festival in Sydney on June 2nd.
