Every year around November there’s a unique phenomenon we like to call the New Year’s Eve scramble. As one of the biggest night of the year looms closer people begin to panic about how exactly they’re gonna be bringing in the New Year. Across Australia, holiday homes are booked out, rooftop bars are all reserved and a slew of festival tickets have already been snatched up.
But for those Sydney-siders who love to boogie, there really is no better place to bring in 2020 than at NYE in the Park. Avoid the chaos of the CBD and the headache of a camping festival. Instead, head over the lush oasis that is Camperdown’s Victoria Park for a night of good food, snazzy bars and more music than you can poke a stick at.
Headlined by NSW locals, the electronic hip hop duo Hermitude, NYE in the Park boasts a stacked lineup of local and international acts that will have you grooving all the way into the next year. And as if things weren’t good enough already, with less than two weeks to go the organisers have added a huge name to the ticket.
Fresh off the back of a sold-out world tour, indie-pop royalty The Jungle Giants will be returning for another year with a set as the sun goes down over the city skyline. Closing out the night will be the endlessly funky Young Franco and Girl Talk who will be spinning their finest tracks as well as some crowd favourites.
Get down there early for a sesh in the sun as Sneaky Sound System, Bag Raiders, and Sydney favourites, Client Liason get the stages warmed up. Honestly, there will be something for everyone with this eclectic mix of electronic dance music and hip hop but and when the clock strikes twelve, you better believe you’ll be treated to a spectacular array of fireworks.
We’re not ones to give you the hard sell, so we’ll just say this. You can bet your bottom dollar that NYE in the Park is where you’ll find us as we bring in 2020. If that’s not a seal of approval, I don’t know what is.
There’s still a handful of tickets available but, these bad boys are gonna sell out quick – so act fast.
