Being an island nation, that sometimes can seem frustratingly far away from the rest of the world.. or Europe at least, we are very lucky to sometimes have absolute masters of horology present their newest wares in this fine country. Last night, Frederique Constant, the Swiss watch brand renowned for producing accessible luxury watches with their own in-house manufactured movements, was one of those masters, unveiling its Baselworld 2017 Collection to a selection of media.
Held at the exclusive Salon Prive at O Bar & Dining, in attendance was special guest Sebastien Cretegny, ?Managing Director of Frederique Constant (Far East) who spoke over panoramic views of Sydney Harbour about the intricacies of the new watches.
A highlight included the FC 760 Flyback Chronograph featuring their in-house handcrafted manufacture automatic flyback chronograph movement. It’s a watch inspired by the 1930’s FLyback Chronographs and a desire to have embellishments beyond the typical chronograph. While a typical chronograph function is used as a stopwatch, with a Flyback, the wearer is able to operate the chronograph without resetting it to zero every time.
Another watch that took our fancy was the Slimline Moonphase Manufacture that screams elegance with its subtle simplicity. The strength of the watch is its ultra-flat characteristics giving it a very sleek feel on the wrist.
