Did you know, according to a Fujifilm research study, 49 per cent of Australians claim to snap a photo of their food before digging in? Pretty crazy huh? And rather than fighting the increasing popularity of #foodstagram, Fujifilm has decided to embrace it.
Introducing Social Dining with Fujifilm – an initiative that not only embraces getting that picture perfect food photo but one that will also educate diners on exactly how to best capture it. Starting on the 18th of April and running for a six week period, Fujifulm has teamed up with one of Sydney’s best Japanese restaurants, Sake Double Bay, to take social currency to the next level, literally meaning that you get one dollar off your bill for every Instagram like you get.
With an eight-course set menu (AUD$119 per person) designed to be both delicious and Instagram worthy, it has never been easier to capture what you eat in a more fun and experiential way. Think hiramasa kingfish infused with jalapeño & lime kosho, steamed prawn dumplings nestled in baskets and the famous “dragon egg” with roasted banana hazelnut and cream miso caramel.
Groups of up to six can book these exclusive dining experiences with a pro food photographer on hand to give you expert tips and tricks on how to capture and style the perfect Insta-worthy food pic. Fujfilm’s latest X-T30 camera will be on hand to ensure you have all the gear and all the ideas with a super easy wifi function to get the photo straight from the X-T30 to your phone and ready to ‘gram.
When it’s time to ask for the cheque, Fujifilm will match Instagram likes with dollars off the bill. Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? Well, it actually gets even better… Everyone in your group can collectively add their likes to maximise the number of dollarydoos taken off the bill.
Saké Double Bay will host two Fujifilm Social Dining sittings for up to six diners every Thursday at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm until the 30th of May. Obviously, this is going to be popular, so it’s a no-brainer that you have to book asap. All that’s left to do is grab your friends with the most Instagram followers and get ready to get some free meals, thanks to Fujifilm. Check out the link below for more details.
