PSA: An In-N-Out Pop-Up is Opening in Sydney Today

It’s for long been a staple of the American burger scene, but Aussies have traditionally had to travel halfway around the globe to get their greasy mitts on an In-N-Out burger. That could soon be about to change. The cult fast-food favourite is launching a pop-up store in Sydney‘s East Village that will run from 10am to 4pm on Wednesday, June 29. For one day only, the In-N-Out Sydney pop-up will be dishing out all the delectable classics, from Double-Double Burgers to Animal Fries, dripping with sauce and laden with good old fashion American ingenuity.

The announcement of the Sydney In-N-Out pop-up was first revealed via the burger chain’s official Instagram. The post, which was obtained by The Daily Mail, included a poster in the classic ’50s-style Americana design that outlined the key dates and information Sydney burger lovers needed to know, from where the Sydney In-N-Out pop-up will be to how early to start lining up. Sydney restaurant East Village then confirmed the announcement to Man of Many.

“Family owned and operated since 1948, In-N-Out Burger will be in Sydney,” the poster read. “For those who have not yet experienced In-N-Out Burger, be sure to come and check us out at this special promotional event.”

Aussie burger fans will recall this isn’t the first time In-N-Out has hit our shores. The Cult American chain previously opened a pop-up at Wood and Smoke Bar in Darlinghurst back in 2019, selling out its allocation of 300 burgers in just 30 minutes. According to Broadsheet, fans eager to get their hands on the greasy favourites began lining up 4am, with queues hitting close to 800 patrons.

In the US, In-N-Out has secured an incredible legacy as one of the country’s top fast-food chains. With more than 300 restaurants across the US, predominantly on the West Coast, In-N-Out has become a staple of the American culinary scene and often the first port of call for travelling Aussies. Famously, the burger chain is a favourite among celebrity chefs and restauranteurs. The late Anthony Bourdain remarked it was his ‘favourite restaurant in LA’ while Gordon Ramsey previously revealed his first experience with the West Coast restaurant was near life-changing.

“In-N-Out burgers were extraordinary,” he previously told Wide Open Eats, admitting, “I was so bad, I sat in the restaurant, had my double cheeseburger, then minutes later I drove back ’round and got the same thing again to take away.”

If you’re in Sydney, this might be your one and only opportunity to get your hands on the cult burger that celebrities have long been championing. The In-N-Out Sydney pop-up will run for one day only and is open from 10am to 4pm on June 29.
