The idea of a McDonald’s Gold Card may be the stuff of urban legend, but its nevertheless true. Jimmy Kimmel fans will remember Rob Lowe flashing his McGold Card on the show in 2015. Larry Crandall, a philanthropist in California, also had one. Mitt Romney proudly boasted of his dad, George Romney, having one that he used almost every day to get a hamburger or fish filet. Warren Buffet told CNBC that he has one, as does Bill Gates.
If you want to enter that group of elite McDonald’s Gold Card holders, then you need to get your phone out now. From August 10 through August 24, every time you use Mobile Order & Pay to order and purchase a McDonald’s meal, you’ll receive one entry into a drawing to receive a McDonald’s Gold Card. The prize will be awarded as two meals, up to $7 each, per week for 50 years—that’s a lot of Big Macs. The drawing is available to any residents of the 50 United States as well as the district of Columbia who are 13 years of age or older.
There’s only one McDonald’s Gold Card out there. If you’re a fan of the Golden Arches, you’ll want to add the Gold Card to your life, but act quickly. It won’t be long before this card is swept back into the realm of myth and legend.
