KFC Brings Back its ‘Most Requested’ Burger Ever

The big kahuna is back. After briefly tantalising our tastebuds back in 2021 with a limited-run release, KFC has announced the iconic Tower Burger is back on the menu. We’re talking Original Recipe fillet, the Colonel’s secret 11 herbs and spices, classic cheese, tangy tomato sauce, mayo, fresh lettuce and a crispy hash brown. Can I get a Hoyaaa?

According to KFC, the return of the Tower Burger comes after mass requests from local fast-food fans, but sadly it won’t be here forever. The finger-licking favourite is available from Tuesday 13 June to Monday 10 July, from participating KFC restaurants nationwide, meaning you have just one month to get your fix.

“After two years of fans around the country passionately calling for its return, we are so thrilled to bring the legendary Tower Burger back to our menus nationwide,” Sally Spriggs, CMO at KFC Australia said. “For all those who have been patiently waiting to get their hands on this delicious burger again, we encourage you to get in quick as you never know when it’ll make its next return to Aussie shores.”

KFC also confirmed that those after a bit more of a kick can swap out the Original Recipe fillet for a Zinger fillet, however, stopped short of rehashing its previous iterations. Back in 2021, KFC announced in a cryptic message that “fans who were in on the secret” would be granted to opportunity to “double up”.

While not exactly a Sherlock Holmes’ level mystery, the clues pointed to a secret menu addition, the Zinger Tower Double. That meant two signature Zinger fillets coated in the Colonel’s secret 11 herbs and spices acting as the bun, sandwiching a delicious hash brown, a slice of classic cheese, and tangy tomato sauce. While KFC Australia has yet to confirm if the secret menu favourite will return alongside the Tower Burger, you can bet this newsroom will get to the bottom of it.
