Star-studded Tasting Australia Festival Returns to Adelaide

The ultimate foodie’s paradise, Tasting Australia Festival, returns to Adelaide this year from Friday 28th of April to Sunday 7th of May. With an epic lineup of 150 events held across 10 jam-packed days, spanning all 12 regions in South Australia, we’re almost overwhelmed with where to even start. To help you out, we’re narrowing things down with our top picks for Tasting Australia 2023, including casual chats with some of the world-class talent, and a six-course lunch hosted by McLaren Vale at Maxwell Vineyards.

The first event to pencil in on your agenda should be the Wine! Wine! Party! Party! At Town Square Kitchen. An opening-night celebration unlike any other, Max Veenhuyzen and Australia’s top bartender, Nick Tesar, will have you dancing all night long. Although you may wake up with a small headache, we guarantee it will be worth it.

Next up, make sure to experience this year’s Tasting Australia festival in luxury, by flying with Tasting Australia Airlines to either Kangaroo Island or the Flinders Ranges. All you have to do is take your pick between a delicious few days on a tranquil coastline or a stunning mountain landscape – a tough choice, we know.

If you’re into oysters, don’t miss out on Oysters in the Hills. This unique partnership between Ambleside Distillers and Coffin’s Bay Oysters in the beautiful Adelaide Hills will see you preparing your own bar-worthy G&T, as well as learning how to shuck your own oysters from the very best in the nation — you never know when that skill might come in handy.

The Fleurieu Peninsula is host to our next top pick: McLaren Vale. Here, you will relish a lavish six-course lunch at the beating heart of McLaren Vale, Maxwell Vineyards. You will also get to tour the winery all the while indulging in some of the best food and wine in the region.

Perhaps the event we are most looking forward to this year is Tasting Australia’s newest addition, the Storytellers Series. Held in Adelaide’s Town Square, you can sit back and enjoy a casual chat with some of the world-class talent involved in this year’s festival, including Chae and Heidi Bjerkan. Get inspired, learn some things, or just enjoy some food-focused conversation. The best bit? It’s free!

Tasting Australia is the ultimate celebration of all things delicious, and this year you can enjoy all the festivities between Friday 28th of April to Sunday 7th of May.
