The Ford F-150 Raptor is a fast, intimidating machine. It is one of the most competent and formidable trucks in Ford’s lineup. With a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 that pumps out 450 horsepower, the Raptor is capable enough for nearly any challenge. There isn’t anything that it can’t handle. Although it might seem impossible to make this vehicle any more badass, Arizona custom builder F250R decided to try. The ended up taking things to the next level. F250R designed two takes on this high-performance truck—the MegaRaptor and the SuperRaptor.
Although the Raptor is based on the F-150, the folks at F250R decided to use the Ford F-250 as a base. They gave it a complete teardown and widened the stance. A lift and body kit were both added. Fender flares and a 4-inch lift were used to make room for large 46-inch wheels. These modifications ensure that the MegaRaptor can easily handle whatever comes its way—even big rocks and the bumpiest dirt paths. The MegaRaptor has 46-inch MRAP wheels and the SuperRaptor rides on 40-inch Raceline wheels. Both versions are wrapped in Michelin XZL tires. The tire size is the only difference between the two.
Other features include a custom fibreglass hood with a clamshell-like opening system. Multipack rear leaf springs and Bilstein 5100 shocks were added to help this beast fly through dunes and stretches of desert. So as to improve the approach angle, neither of the builds were equipped with bumpers. Each custom truck is made to order so you can make it even more extreme if you want.
