For all the whisky drinkers out there, I know you don’t have a tendency to be experimental with your tipples, but you should give a glass for Glenfiddich a go. It is a family-owned and operated distillery in Speyside, Scotland that has been distilling whisky for five generations. Over the last few months, the company took a daring step by combining their famous whisky with a hint of unorthodox creativity by releasing their IPA Experiment. This is the world’s first single malt whisky to be finished in India Pale Ale (IPA) beer casks. The flavour notes were tailored in the IPA brewing process by choosing specific ingredients that elevate the existing flavours of the base spirit.
Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich’s malt master used a range of fresh fruit and elements of pear and vanilla where drinkers will get initial sweetness and a malty aftertaste from the pale ale. It’s always good get out of your comfort zone every now and then, and I recommend you get off your couch to give Glenfiddich a go.
