Huckberry Finds – July 2021: Gadgets and Gear
We love Huckberry. It’s one of the best online retailers to have a browse through as they’re always stocking the most relevant and up-to-date products from the best brands in the world. For this months rendition of Huckberry Finds we’re exploring what we do best – gadgets and gear. Any one of these items will give you a technical edge. Whether that be with its use of textiles, materials, or technologies. In other cases, we just selected them because they’re cool. Can you blame us? Let’s get it started.

Garret Leight – Harding X
Recognised the world over for its commitment to quality stylish sunglasses Garrett Leight leads the pack. The Harding X is one of the brands latest models and features a mini sun shield on either side of frames, a single bridge design, and handmade construction with three barrel hinges. These are the type of glasses that you buy once and keep on rotation for years to come. In other words – timeless.
Pedro and Tailor – Guayabera Shirt
In the world of outdoor gear, the saying goes “the more pockets, the better” and the Guayabera shirt from Pedro and Tailor feature more than you can poke a stick at. It’s got four of these bad boys running down the front of the shirt. There’s plenty of space to fill with everyday carry items such as lighters, knives, trail mix, and maybe even a flint and steel if you’re super gorp’d up. To pull off this summer number we’d pair it with the next item on our list, the Pathfinder Hybrid Short.
Rhythm – Pathfinder Hybrid Short 6″
There’s an argument surrounding the best inseam length that could go on for decades. Some people argue for 5-inch and sagging, others argue for 7-inch and up high. Landing right in the middle is the Pathfinder Hybrid Short in 6-inch length. In what could be a deal maker for short wearers around the world, these jawns feature lightweight construction for all-day comfort thanks to a technical stretch nylon fabric designed to move with you. They’re also quick to dry and feature plenty of stash pockets.
Lusso Cloud – The Gehry
No one does comfort like the Lusso Cloud Gehry. Huckberry puts it best “imagine what it would be like if someone crossed the cozy comfort of a waffle knit robe with the plush suppleness of a prestige memory foam mattress. Now we’re talking. With a triple-stack construction with a flexible EVA footbed, these sneaker/ slip-on/ slipper/ house shoe combo’s are best kept around the house. We can’t think of a better way to slipper because sometimes you’ve got to take things up a notch.
lululemon AIM Boxer 7″
The lululemon boxer briefs answer the question of boxers vs. boxer briefs in an instant with a comfortable and functional design equally suited to chillouts and workouts. It’s an age-old argument that almost holds the short in-seam conversation to ransom, but how could you argue with these boxer briefs? Built from a premium modal fabric that’s as soft as it is functional, thank us later.
Helinox – Playa Chair
Outdoor gear brand Helinox has been making a significant name for itself with a number of headline collaborations with the likes of Neighbourhood and Stussy. While they bring the name to the masses at a premium price, the brands mainline products have always been an outdoor gears man dream. The Playa is the brands biggest, most comfortable, and full-loaded chair. With adjustable-height padded headrest that supports your head and neck for comfort and a supportive mesh seat. The campfire is calling.
Dometic – CFX3 75 Powered Cooler Dual Zone
Good for everything from Overlanding adventures to house parties, the CFX3 75 from Dometic offers a rugged cooler to have ice-cold storage, minus the ice. There are dual storage compartments with independent temperature settings—use one to refrigerate and one to freeze, the generous storage capacity of 75 L that can fit up to 113 cans. A beautiful colour display for temperature and status, and ‘no-ice’ means you can fit up to 50% more food and drink than conventional coolers
Hario – Double Wall Glass Tea Pot
Remember that bit where we talked about browsing Huckberry and finding cool things? This is point and case 1A. Hario brings us a double-walled teapot perfect for wilderness brews. Features include heatproof glass with a handle that doesn’t heat up for easy handling, an oversized stainless steel strainer that lets the tea leaves move around freely and most importantly, it brews two cups at once. Happy wife, happy life!
Moore & Giles – Bottle Opener
Another victim of our endless growing on Huckberry comes the Moore and Giles bottle opener. The hand-forged iron construction immediately caught our eye. And the perfect hand-stitched Italian vegetable-tanned leather grip means you’ll get some nice patina over time.
ROAM Adventure Co. – Rugged Case 105L
What’s more “manly” than a big ‘ol case to put all your stuff?! Not only will the ROAM Adventure Co. – Rugged Case keep everything safe with steel lockable latches, but it will also keep things clean with military-grade dust- and waterproof gasket seals. Throw it in the back of your ute, tie it down with the tie-down channels and forget about losing anything ever again. We use ours to hide all our gear purchases from the wife, hint hint nudge nudge.
Matador – FlatPak Toiletry Case
What’s better than getting out into the country and doing some good old exploration? Nothing. As most Jeep owners would attest, space comes at a premium when you’re trekking. Let us introduce you to our new best friend, the FlatPak Toiletry Case from Matador. Our favourite feature of this case is the flat bottom design that allows it to sit on counters for convenient access. Other features include a waterproof construction that blocks contents from the elements and a roll-top closure that adjusts to your specific carrying needs so there’s no wasted space.
YETI – Rambler Colster Can Insulator
Whenever we’re heading into the bush, we always keep a couple of ‘Yeddies’ on deck. This is everyone’s favourite heavy-duty koozie that promises to keep beer cold in the Aussie desert. Our pick of the bunch is the Rambler Colster, featuring a sweat-proof design that stops condensation, a twist-off gasket that keeps your can securely in place and a duracoat colour that won’t chip or crack.
Sportes – MITI-001 Outdoor Cooking Tool
We were confused at first by the design of this outdoor cooking tool. That was until we watched this instructional video and now we just have to have one. The MITI-001 is made from incredibly strong 304L stainless steel and with found anchored stabilises you’ll be cooking up a storm in no time.
YETI – Hopper M30
Another ‘Yeddie’ to add to your ever-expanding list of products. Once you get your hands on one YETI product you won’t be able to help yourself. Right next to our personal Rambler sits the Hopper M30, and we couldn’t recommend this product enough. We love the magnetic open and closing mechanism for easy access, as well as the coldcell insulation that keep the beers cold unlike any other. If you’re a whipper snapper like us, the Dryhide shell uses high-density fabric that resists mildew, punctures, and UV rays so you can just leave it sitting right next to your camping chair.
Snow Peak – Collapsible Coffee Drip
Another ingenious camping tool from Japanese brand Snow Peak is their collapsible coffee drip. A brand that draws on 60 years of experience and materials like titanium and steel, its minimalist and functional design promises zero distractions from the natural wonder around you. Step up your pour-over game with this stainless steel piece that offers a lifetime of use. Compatible with both Chemex and Hario V60 filters.
