Back in 2014, rapper and business mogul, Jay Z bought the Armand de Brignac champagne line from Sovereign Brands. Established in 1763, this brand of Champagne was one of France’s oldest. Known as the Ace of Spades for its distinctive bottle, the line has only released two champagnes since Jay-Z took over.
The first Blanc de Noirs champagne from the Ace of Spades line is highly-prized all over the world. In fact, it was named the Number One Blanc de Noirs in the World by Fine Champagne Magazine. It stands out because of its nuance and complexity.
Jay-Z recently released the second blend in the line, called the Blanc de Noirs second assemblage or simply A2. This bottle is so expensive that most people would have to work for days just to afford a bottle. The champaign will cost AUD $1129. It will be completely worth it though if this bubbly is nothing like the first. It features fruit from some of the best pinot noir grapes in the villages of Champagne, France. The grapes were picked from 2008 through 2010 vintages. The A2 champagne has a refreshing light taste.
But good luck getting a bottle even if you can cough up the cash. It just went on sale and already has been selling like crazy. There will be only a limited number of bottles released worldwide.
For readers in the New York or Los Angeles area, you are in luck. The new champagne will be available at select clubs, including Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club in New York.
