The Pen That Started It All – Montblanc ‘Rouge et Noir’ Re-Release 110th Anniversary

Montblanc is known for its leather goods, jewellery and watches. But it’s best known for its luxury writing instruments. They have re-released the Rouge et Noir pen for its 110th Anniversary. When it was developed in 1906, this pen was considered revolutionary as it provided users with a simple operation without the need for dipping the nib into an inkwell.

The updated edition is limited to 1,906 pieces and features a longer and slimmer silhouette with modern piston filler technology. The cap and barrel are made of traditional black hard rubber, the same material used for the first Montblanc fountain pens. A snake wraps around the barrel cap and the signature snowcap is finished in an off-white colourway that’s surrounded in coral red. I have two wish lists in my life, I love my stationery, and this would be on my wish list, but more so, my ‘dream’ wish list.
