Share the Love this Valentines Day with Pure Scot Whisky
At Man of Many we are always searching for the best whiskeys. There are so many great options out there, with each providing its own unique offering, but some tend to stand out. One excellent new solution for your whiskey blues comes from newer entrant Pure Scot with their Blended Scotch Whiskey. While some look down on blends, the truth is that many of the better whiskeys you can try will be blends, due to its allowance for interesting combinations and processes which can result in amazing end products. But perhaps as much as a good product, we love a good story, and Pure Scot has that as well.

If you’ve yet to hear of Pure Scot, it’s understandable. They just recently launched in Melbourne in advance of the global rollout, and Pure Scot is the first Australian-owned whiskey brand distilled traditionally in the southern Lowlands of Scotland. Pure Scot is the vision of Australian businessman David Prior, bringing a modern spin to a category that can get a bit stale, making sure to offer accessible products. Prior’s backgorund is part of their great story, as he founded a successful probiotic yogurt company before coming over to the world of whiskeys. The connection is not immediately apparent, however it turns out that Prior simply wanted to pursue his passion of whiskey. When you succeed in one business and have the capital to pursue a passion, you take that opportunity. The early returns appear to be great, as the new venture has already started making waves and the Blended Scotch is a great reason why. The brand’s master distiller Ian Macmillan really brings his skills to the table here, delivering a crisp, smooth and uniquely authentic taste which is adaptable to many drinks and occasions.

Bladnoch Single Malt, robust island malts, aged Speyside and Highland malts and select grain whiskies are blended to create the Pure Scot Blended Scotch. The result is a high-quality, refined, yet accessible product that everyone from more novice whiskey drinkers to the most veteran of imbibers can enjoy. And even though the company is new, their distillery is quite old – almost 200 years in fact. Prior, the savvy businessman he is, snatched up the property to start the business that would help fuel his passion. If you want to be one of the early adopters, Pure Scot is available through Dan Murphy’s online retail site across Australia or at selected bottle shops and bars around Melbourne, while it will launch on a global scale throughout 2016.
