Targus Cypress Hero Backpack Has Built-In Apple ‘Find My’ Technology

Tech backpacks have always been characteristically uncool, courtesy of their bulky form and less than ergonomic designs, but Targus is working hard to change all that. At CES 2022, the brand, best known for its sturdy carry-all designs, has unveiled the Cypress Hero Backpack, a handy little addition that comes complete with Apple Find My technology.

Now, it must be said, high-tech backpacks aren’t anything new, but Targus has certainly upped the game. The brand claims the new Cypress Hero backpack, the latest instalment in the brand’s EcoSmart product family, is the first of its kind to offer the much-loved Apple Find My tracking tech as an integrated feature. With this innovation, users can locate their bag via their Apple devices through the highly complex network.

Essentially, that means if you ever misplace and lose your backpack, you’ll be able to recover your belongings far more easily and with greater accuracy. Aside from the futuristic additions, the Cypress Hero carries on Tragus’ tradition for well-made everyday luggage. It features a large main compartment with padding on the back panel and shoulder straps, a padded laptop compartment and a “workstation” for carrying small accessories, along with a “quick stash” front pocket.

Perhaps best of all, Targus is resting on its environmental laurels either. According to the brand, the Cypress Hero with Apple Find My is actually made from 26 recycled plastic water bottles, making it not only high tech but incredibly sustainable. Priced at USD$149.99, Targus is planning to release the new model in either spring or summer.
