The streets may have been silenced for the past few months, but the bustling tourist hotspot of Darling Harbour is once again set to thrive. And this time around, it’s got a touch of old-world glamour to go along with it. Aiden Darling Harbour is the latest boutique hotel to line on the iconic Sydney waterfront, scheduled to open to the public on 1 December 2021, after three long years of planning. But this isn’t just another hotel.
Set in a decadently remodelled 1930s Art Deco building, the boutique hotel is a stunningly curated exploration of the Sydney of old. From the collection of bespoke artworks, which include vibrant hand-painted murals of native flora to an incredible 25-metre-high “ever-green wall” rainforest, all by award-winning Australian artist in residence, Jessica Le Clerc, Aiden Darling Harbour wears its influences on its sleeve.
Each of the 88 compact rooms cop all the creature comforts you’d expect from a high-end hotel, including Dyson accessories, luxurious Rituals bathroom amenities and locally-made goodies from Love Tea and Madhouse Bakehouse. There’s also complimentary e-bikes for exploring the neighbourhood, and custom-designed mesh cloud lobby lighting representing fishing nets from Sydney Harbour.
For those looking for a night out in one of Sydney’s most iconic regions, it starts downstairs. On the ground floor, you’ll find Wayfarer’s Bar & Café, a mixed-used space that offers stunning Australian wines, custom-created bottled cocktails and a few cheeky snacks along the way.
“Aiden Darling Harbour has been designed for travellers by travellers to deliver everything you need in a hotel and nothing you don’t,” general manager, Michael Sharp said. “So you can enjoy a smart, sophisticated, locally-connected travel experience with personalised service in an excellent location at an affordable price.”
The new smartly-designed, digitally-connected hotel opens in Sydney on 1 December 2021. You can check out more about Aiden Darling Harbour via the link below.
