Beau Ryan to Host ‘The Amazing Race Australia’ on Ten

After tantalising, teasing, and speculation, Ten has finally announced its final addition to its programming lineup: The Amazing Race Australia. The announcement fills out Ten’s 2019 slate of shows.

It’s been five years since The Amazing Race Australia was last on air, but it’s back now with Beau Ryan hosting. The announcement follows up on a tease from Ten’s chief content officer Beverly McGarvey, who promised that another franchise would be added but that negotiations had slowed. It’s easy to see why The Amazing Race is coming back.

In 2014, the final episode had 416,000 viewers, down from the 588,000 viewers of that year’s premiere. The show aired three seasons on Seven. McGarvey said of the announcement, “We cannot wait to bring The Amazing Race back to Australian audiences. It is a perfect blend of action, drama, and captivating characters. We look forward to rounding out our 50-week schedule with an epic and fun adventure series.”

The show will feature teams of two racing around the world as they try to outlast to the other teams and win a cash prize. Show host and former footballer Beau Ryan said, “I’m really pumped to be hosting one of the biggest franchises on Australian TV. I jumped at the chance to combine two of my favourite things, people and travel. I can’t wait to get started. May the best team win!”

The only question is who will be competing for the $250,000 prize? The short answer is that it could be you and your best mate. Mycastingnet has a listing for auditions to be on The Amazing Race Australia. To apply, you’ll need to submit a short video, and you have to be 18 or older. If you have what it takes, then hit the record button and upload your audition. You just might be traveling the world with Beau Ryan.
