Captain’s Choice Launches $33,000 Private Jet Tour of New Zealand
Speaking from absolutely no experience, there’s no better way to enjoy the sights and sounds of new scenery then from the comfort of your own private jet. That might seem a little indulgent, and you’d be correct, but it’s not completely off the table. Luxury travel curator Captain’s Choice is set to hit the airstrip for an unforgettable journey through some of the New Zealand’s most ridiculous properties, taking cashed-up jet-setters on a vacay the Royal Family would be jealous of.

Departing from Sydney on October 15, the Captain’s Choice Luxury Lodges of New Zealand by Private Jet tour will invite just 35 guests on board the stunning business-class BAE-146 private jet on a unique trans-Tasman adventure. Across 10 days, travellers will be able to enjoy New Zealand’s sub-tropical Bay of Islands region in the north, before stopping in at Queenstown and eventually finishing in the pristine waters of Lake Taupo. But unlike most things in life, this trip isn’t about the journey, it’s about the destination.
According to Captain’s Choice, the guest will stay at three of the world’s most luxurious private estates: the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, the Huka Lodge, and the Matakauri Lodge. The first three nights are set against the sweeping unspoilt coastline of the Bay of Island, with guests invited to take part in a boat cruise around the neighbouring islands. If you’re into golfing, you’ll have access to the lodge’s private golf course. At Kauri Cliffs, you’ll be treated to a guided heritage tour with scenic walks to Hikurua waterfall, Waiua Bay, and Little Takou Beach.

At Taupo, you’ll spend three nights at the Huka Lodge where you can fly fish, visit the Opepe Scenic and Historic Reserve, or play a round of golf at the Kinloch or Wairakei golf courses. On day seven of the trip, you’ll find yourself in Queenstown at the Matakuri Lodge. You’ll take in the awe-inspiring views of The Remarkable, Cecil, and Walter Peaks. Guests will also visit the Kawarua Gorge and the Gibbston Valley Winery (home to New Zealand’s largest underground wine cave). Finally, you can choose between a Jet Boat experience on the Shotover River, a round of golf at Jack’s Point, or a day of shopping in Queenstown. The final offerings of this incredible trip include a visit to the volcanic outcrop of Norfolk Island and a stop at Mount Pitt.
“Luxury Lodges of New Zealand by Private Jet is a signature Captain’s Choice journey,” Captain’s Choice CEO Bas Bosschieter said. “It has everything; luxurious accommodation, outdoor adventure, beautiful landscapes, golf, gourmet escapes, stunning landscapes and immersion in the fascinating local culture. It’s a New Zealand and Norfolk Island experience that only private jet travel can deliver, with everything included and the freedom to do as much or as little as guests choose.”
Memorable experiences like this don’t come cheap, and to participate in the Luxury Lodges of New Zealand by Private Jet journey you can expect to pay $31,450 per person for the 10 day excursion and $32,950 for the 11 day journey. Absolute bargain if you ask us.
