If humans successfully colonise space, there might very well be a Star Wars-themed planet one day. Until then, the never-ending legion of films, rides, toys and attractions will have to suffice. And now we can toss a mind-blowing resort into the mix because according to Bob Chapek, Chariman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, an immersive Star Wars-inspired resort is already in the works. As if we didn’t see that coming.
What can fans and tourists expect from the new Star Wars resort? Nothing short of the fulfillment of their innermost fanboy fantasies. In other words, don’t just picture rooms modeled after spaceship interiors, or bellboys dressed up like robots, or lunch menu items with pun-tastic names like Darth Taters. This is a full-blown universe unto itself in which you’re an active participant.
The aforementioned Chairman Bob Chapek offered up a juicy overview, “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”
Every guest gets his or her own storyline and costume? Wow. Call it a hunch, but we see the Disney Star Wars resort being booked solid until actual completion of the Death Star.
