Istoria Hotel has a Story to Tell

Istoria Hotel, designed by Athens-based Interior Design Laboratorium, is situated on a picturesque beach on an island in the Aegean Sea. The black volcanic sands of the Perivolos Beach play into the hotel, which, like the other buildings of the island, was made using traditional and native materials of volcanic stones and colored plaster accented by wooden furniture and handcrafted textiles.

“Istoria” is the Greek word for “story,” and while this wonderful island has plenty to tell, it’s also a place where you can create your own story for future generations. Istoria is located within walking distance of Perivolos Beach and Perissa Beach. The island is home to many more fascinating beaches as well. You can also visit the Museum of Prehistoric Thira, the Archeological Museum, or the Maritime Museum. The Santo Winery is also a possibility, or visit the Nea Kameni Volcano after a short boat ride. You’ll also want to visit Messa Vuna, a 3,000 year old Greek town that is still being excavated.

The hotel itself features 12 soundproofed rooms with WiFi and 24-hour room service. Each room has a private patio for taking in stunning sunsets. You’ll also find an outdoor pool with a poolside bar and a restaurant. Each room has an electric kettle, a dishwasher, and a stove to prepare your own meals. A full-service spa is available, and there is a bar and lounge. If you’re looking for activities, the hotel offers diving, canoeing, and horse riding.
