The #Suitelife – Fraser Suites Sydney Destination Guide

Even though Man of Many calls Sydney home, every now and again it is great to have a weekend away in your own beautiful city. My stay of choice for this particular jaunt was the sophisticated and luxurious Fraser Suites with some of the most stunning city views I’ve laid my eyes upon.

Situated in the heart of the CBD, it’s only minutes away from some of Sydney’s best attractions including the Queen Victoria Building, Darling Harbour, and the shops at Pitt St Mall. Their great customer service combined with the convenient location, makes this the perfect choice for a short stay or even as a first-timer to the city to experience the best Sydney has to offer. All of the Fraser Suites apartments provide a home away from home experience, equipped with modern interiors, astounding views of the city, Nespresso machines (the most crucial appliance if you’re a caffeine addict like me) and a state of the art health and fitness centre.

If you are visiting Sydney for the first time or for those of you who have no idea what to do while you’re here, I’ve put together a four short stop-offs that are well worthy of your time.

sydney pitt st mall

Pitt St Mall

Pitt St Mall is the equivalent to Bourke St Mall in Melbourne providing a well rounded shopping experience. This open-air mall is one of Australia’s busiest and most cultivated shopping precincts, filled with entertainment and retail stores such as Glasshouse, David Jones, Westfield and Myer to name a few. It’s easy to lose yourself here with over 600 shops and restaurants, all in just 2 blocks and up the road from Fraser’s.

sydney grounds of alexandria

Grounds of Alexandria: The Grounds

Your one-stop destination for the nicest place to drink coffee in the city. Well, not just coffee, but seriously amazing coffee. The Grounds serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu that includes a wholesome, home-style selection of dishes from smashed avocado to steak tartare which is sprinkled with all the good stuff.  There is also a craft market on the weekends where you can pick up some great gifts and hand-crafted products. If you have a sweet tooth, I highly recommend trying their house-made affogato, it’s a dessert you cannot pass up.

sydney harbour bridge

Take a Walk Across the Sydney Harbour Bridge

One of the most cliché things to do yes, but certainly a must-try. Take a train from the city to Milsons Point station. Before you start your trek across the bridge, walk down to the water and capture the amazing views of the Sydney Opera house. Make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes as it is a 1km walk across, but trust me, it’s stroll you will not regret. The view of the harbour is something extraordinary and one everyone needs to experience at least once.

sydney coogee pavilion

Coogee Pavilion (On the weekends)

This is the place to be on the weekends. The Coogee Pavilion is the perfect social destination with great offerings from a Friday night all the way through to Sunday brunch and afternoon sessions. The rooftop features four indoor and outdoor bars, with breathtaking views of the shoreline as it is practically right on the beach. The Mediterranean menu is mouth-watering to say the least and they are well known for serving great cocktails too.

Sydney is a city that has something for everyone from art and entertainment to beaches and great bars & restaurants. Although it is always hard to pinpoint just a few things to experience, I have personally tried out these things and can therefore highly recommend them. Thanks to Fraser Suites Hotel for having me. It’s been a treat.
