Jason Statham is looking to move fast and furious on the sale of his Malibu home. The British actor bought the home 10 years ago for $10.6 million, but has listed it at $19.95 million. If he sells it, Statham will pull off a deal worthy of Deckard Shaw.
Statham’s home, also known as “The Black House,” can be found in Malibu’s coveted Colony enclave, where it sits right on the beach and is part of a neighborhood that includes A-list celebrities like Tom Hanks, Sting, Robert Redford, Edward Norton, Paul Reiser, and Larry Hagman.
The house got its name for its black-painted, cedar-shingled exterior. It covers 3,900 square feet and has a detached guest cottage out back. The cottage offers a one-bedroom suite above the two-car garage. The house itself consists of three bedrooms and three baths. Large decks covered in Burmese teak provide plenty of viewing areas to take in the splendor of the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. If you’re more comfortable inside, no worries, the large windows will still let you take in the sights. The main living room has floor-to-ceiling windows. A lounge area off of the living room feature a brick fireplace. Statham has the flanking shelves stocked with firewood. A TV area with black shelving is the perfect setting to take in one of Statham’s films.
The kitchen continues the black and white theme with a modern look courtesy of the dark-gray German Bulthaup cabinets. Stainless steel countertops complement the professional-grade Gaggenau appliances.
The second floor consists entirely of the master bedroom. Again there are floor-to-ceiling windows and the four doors are framed in white wood. A private deck opens up off of this suite. “The Black House is an oceanside architectural tour de force,” says Branden Williams, the broker listing the house for Williams & Williams Estate Group at Hilton and Hyland. “With its dramatic blend of sophistication and retro style, it hearkens back to Malibu’s golden age.”
Lest you’re worried for Statham, he’ll be living in comfort with his supermodel fiancée Rose Huntington-Whitely in a mansion above Sunset Strip. Or in their other home in Beverly Hills Flats, which is worth $13 million.
