Ocean House is an Exquisite Architectural Stay on the Great Ocean Road

The new build from Architect Rob Mills

There are holiday houses, and then there’s Ocean House. Situated on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, Ocean House redefines the concept of beachside retreat. With North Lorne’s secluded beach just 100m away, This modern architecture looks set to be the perfect stay for that much-needed summer vacation.

Ocean House is sculpted from concrete, timber and glass amid the eucalypts and decorated to the highest standards with objects and furniture from award-winning Architect Rob Mills’ favourite artists and designers, including Pierre Lissoni and Patricia Urquiola.

Guest can enjoy five circular bedrooms, three living areas, wrap-around terraces and a rooftop deck with open-air bath. There’s also free WiFi, Apple Movies and a commercial grade coffee machine and grinder so forget about baristas. A glass and timber pavilion blends wilderness with contemporary chic to create a truly unique entertaining area with panoramic views across the ocean.

The concrete surfaces are polished to a velvet-soft finish, and when paired with the Hydronic heating, the house keeps warm in winter and cool throughout summer.

Rob Mills is the architect and owner. He designed Ocean House as his very own dream home. “This house is the story of land, its unique positioning between coast and forest, and the climatic conditions, informing the built outcomes,” says Rob.

Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway from the city, or a family school holidays escape, Ocean House is here and waiting. See more on Instagram.
